• Stupid Pet Product #2: Computer Catproofing

I should start by saying I don’t really think this is a useless pet product, in fact, I think it’s ingenious and rather hilarious. The useless part is that it costs $19.99 and that in this day and age you have to wait for them to deliver it by mail.

One of the skills that cats possess is the ability to quickly identify things they shouldn’t touch and immediately start meddling with it. Computer keyboards are no exception to this rule.

PawSense is a software that will monitor keyboard activity and shut it down when it notices wierd typing afoot. This all hinges on the scientific discovery that cat paws are larger than keyboard keys, thus causing a cat’s paw to push down more than one key at a time. Don’t believe me? Surely this CGI diagram from their site will convince you:

So, to conclude, this is actually a pretty funny product, but it takes itself way too seriously.
